Friday: Weekend Idea - It's show time - Pine Rivers style!!

For those of you not in Australia each region has a big show every year.

When the shows originated many years ago the intention was to bring the country to the city. The shows included best of breed farm animals as well as cooking, horticulture and arts and crafts.

Nowadays there is all the traditional items as well as sideshows, food, novelty stalls, fireworks etc.

This weekend it is the Pine Rivers Show. I went with my family today and it is well worth a visit. Pine Rivers is the area where I live - it is about 20km north of Brisbane CBD.

For information about the Pine Rivers Show you can visit their website which is available here.

The show is obviously smaller than the Brisbane 'Ekka' but the entry prices and other prices are also far more reasonable.

Admission is $12 for Adults, $8 for Government Concessions, $8 for High School Students and free for Primary School Students and younger.

Tonight we got to see FMX Kaos Motorcycles before the Fireworks. Tomorrow night (Sat) there is a Rodeo before the fireworks show.

The show is open from 9am - 9pm on Saturday and 9am - 4pm on Sunday.

Have a great weekend.

See you tomorrow.
